LOSS LEADERS ISSUE ZERO
In this issue: what is this thing, how did I get here, what will happen to me now?
What’s happening?
What’s happening is: Loss Leaders is a monthly-ish email newsletter zine with short fiction, essays about records, impossible recipes, writing process explorations, TTRPG ideas, unreliable gardening advice, and whatever else blows through the kitchen window, plus updates on recordings, publications, readings, and live performances by me and my various artistic endeavours.
If you’re here because this landed in your email inbox, thanks for subscribing. If you’re looking at this on the website and haven’t already subscribed, here’s a “Subscribe now” button:
Can you say that again but make less sense?
Because I stuck my face in a vein of crystallized golden electromagnetic syrup, under a laminated trade cover painting of Smaug coiled around his heap, which charged every dendrite with a raw need for waving around hand-packed pages and saying “See? See?” And since every Intel-inside inch of this basket-world-that-is-the-case still has all the eyeballs and the Grid’s full coal-fired blessing, I’ve got to keep waving those pages at the emergency exits of as many application layer protocols as possible. You get the pages, I get the neurotransmitters.
Who contributes to this thing?
Me, Andrew Wedderburn, at least to start. Well, probably always just me because managing myself is enough of a handful.
What does Loss Leaders cost?
Nothing except your attention, and willingness to receive the aforementioned updates on books, records, and shows along with your newsletter content.
If you want to help me out, show this to someone else and get them to subscribe. The best support I can receive is more readers.
How do I get more Loss Leaders in the future?
Click a SUBSCRIBE button. I didn’t spend fifteen years working in marketing at tech startups without learning how to slap SUBSCRIBE buttons all over the place. Here’s one right now:
Anything else?
Nope, that’s the whole pitch. Here’s a picture of a moose taking it easy behind my kids’ playhouse on March 7, 2023:
